Ellen Steverson, founder of StartingBlock Career Services, met Rebecca at the National Resume Writers Association (NRWA) conference a few years back. “By the time I decided to update my website, several others had used Web Pages That Sell and I really liked the work she did with their sites, so I hired Rebecca,” Ellen recalled. “Other entrepreneurs told me about her willingness to educate along the way, learning about their target clients to ensure the website aligns, and the resulting well-developed, visually appealing web design.”
With 10 years of experience behind her, Ellen’s main focus was to make her site more user friendly for her clients, so this was key in redesigning the website. She had a few main goals, which were to optimize the website for SEO, expand the number of pages on the site, and automate the processes so that clients could view and download content at their convenience.
Together, Rebecca and Ellen discussed the overall goals of her website. “I wanted it to be modern, updated, and have functions that allowed prospects to reach out to me,” Ellen said. Together, they talked through Ellen’s client process as well as what else she wanted her website to help her clients achieve.
Since Ellen’s first goal was to optimize the website for SEO, she and Rebecca started right away adding key content that would help her site to rank higher in search algorithms. Then, they worked on adding more information to the site that would expand the site’s size and offer more useful information to StartingBlock Career Services clients.
To further improve the end-user experience, we also implemented a security and maintenance package, graphic designs, and updated client material. The result was an attractive, functional, and easy to expand site that improves the client experience without being overwhelming in any way. Ellen stated that she particularly enjoys the monthly maintenance calls and opportunity to brainstorm with a business professional on more improvements moving forward.
When asked what she liked best about her website, Ellen replied, “Web Pages that Sell helped solidify my brand, allowed for improved client experiences with automatic scheduling, and attracted targeted clients.” Ellen has found that the improved SEO on her site has brought in more leads, and the ease of use of the website has given them a chance to get to know more about her and her services before she even speaks with them. Clients are then able to schedule an appointment with Ellen at their own convenience to get the ball rolling.
At Web Pages that Sell, we know that customers are the heart of any business. Designing Ellen’s website to attract more leads and giving them the information they need right from the beginning has allowed her business to reach more people seeking her specialized career services.
“I was impressed by the work Rebecca and her team produced for people in my industry. I also noticed that even though she had worked with other resume writers, the sites didn't all look the same. That told me she was working to be sure our individual brands were showcased. I now have a modern, updated, professional website that caters to my target clients. Since implementing the new site, my business runs more efficiently, allowing more time for sales or just having fun!”
