Over the course of your business you may have created worksheets, outlines for videos, or power point presentations. These files contain a lot of valuable content and take time to create. You may be wondering what you can do with this content besides its intended use so that you can make the most of the time and energy you invested into creating the content.
Repurposing content is a practical way to reuse valuable content in a new way. You will be able to reach more people with varied content formats without having to start from scratch every time.

Idea #1: Go Live on Facebook
If you have never gone live on Facebook before to discuss topics related to your business, this idea may be intimidating to you.
However, regular Facebook live videos are a great way to get in front of your community. Users engage well with video content, and live videos often perform better than other posts on Facebook’s algorithm. After you’ve been live for several minutes, Facebook will begin to send notifications that you are live to your followers and fans. This will often prompt more people to start watching your video.
You can use existing content that you have such as worksheets and power point presentations to help you structure your Facebook live videos. This will help you get over any worries you have about what you say when you are live. Use the framework of the existing content you have to guide you as you are live, and fill in the gaps with stories, examples, or questions for your listeners to answer.
Here are a few quick tips for you:
- Find a quiet location to record the video in
- Start the live video from your Facebook business page via the Facebook app
- Introduce yourself and your topic for a few minutes as you wait for people to start watching
- Answer questions as people ask them, or at the end of the video
- Give a quick call-to-action at the end of the video – perhaps you ask people to follow your Facebook page, or ask them to sign up for your email list so they don’t miss future videos and content from you
Idea #2: Create Content Upgrades
If you already have an opt-in gift for email subscribers, your email list is probably seeing some growth. If you are looking for even more list growth, consider using content upgrades.
A content upgrade is a bonus that you offer website visitors after they consume some of your content. For example, at the end of your most popular blog posts, you can include a worksheet, check list, or cheat sheet related to the article content. In order for the reader to get the bonus content, they will need to sign up for your email list.
Existing content you have in the form of outlines, worksheets, or presentations gives you a great starting point for developing content upgrades for your website visitors. Edit the content to be relevant to the article you are offering it with. Focus on providing value to the reader so they will want to give you their email in exchange for the content upgrade.
Create a handful of content upgrades for your post popular posts and pages of your website to help grow your email list even more!

Idea #3: Turn Slides into Social Images
If you often give presentations, you probably have a collection of power point slides at your disposal. These slides are great for creating social media images to promote your products and services, or to share parts of your story as a business owner.
Some slides may be great for a social media image just as they are, and others may need to be edited or adjusted a bit first. Once you have a slide that you are happy with for social media, save that slide as a JPEG or PNG image file. Upload the new image to your social media page and add a relevant caption. Focus on offering valuable content to your social media audience through both the image and the caption.
Be sure to mix up the slide images with other types of content so your social media feeds have variety and visual interest.
